General Membership

Green Cross Academy of Traumatology (GCAT) is an international, humanitarian assistance organization, non-profit corporation comprised of trained traumatologists and compassion fatigue service providers.

Most of our members are licensed mental health professionals--all are oriented to helping people in crisis following traumatic events.

If you are interested in joining GCAT, please fill out the PDF form and submit it along with the $95 annual fee. If you have taken a COCA certified course within the last 30 days, you can join for $25 by submitting a copy of your training certificate along with the General Membership form.

Red Cross seeks GCAT

The Red Cross is seeking Green Cross Members to lend a hand in the after math of Hurricane Sandy. Particularly to help our at the shelters. If any Green Cross member has community-mental health services experience such as: clinical social workers, psychologists, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychiatric nurses, and psychologists with independent licenses, you are more than needed to help assist the Red Cross.


If you have a minimum of two weeks to volunteer for this effort, have an active license in one of the above specialties, and are in excellent physical health, the people impacted by Hurricane Sandy need your help. The Northern Minnesota Region of the Red Cross is looking for volunteers who could attend training on Friday, November 9th and travel to the East Coast as early as November 10th. There may also be opportunities to deploy later in November or early December.

Sandy Hooks

Help the community of Sandy Hook as they grapple to come to grips with the tragedy at their school. They will be dealing with this for weeks and months to come.

A special fund has been set up through Green Cross to ensure support for those who need it. To donate please visit: www.greencross.org. Then select the donation option.

We have a team of internationally recognized School Crisis Specialist volunteers on Stand By to assist the local Crisis Mental Health Teams as they support the entire community.  This effort will be a long term commitment.

Green Cross Academy of Traumatologists provides trained and certified Disaster Mental Health specialists.
