Dr. Dan Casey, MCT, LMSW, LADC

Dr. Dan Casey is a GCAT Certified Traumatologist. He's certified by the American Academy of Experts on Traumatic Stress in trauma response and in school crisis response. Having been a certified member of GCAT since 1999, he is currently a Site Director, a Board Member, and formerly served 6 years as Executive Director. Dr. Casey has deployed with GCAT since 2003 as Operations Section Chief, Incident Commander or member volunteer. Dr. Dan Casey resides in Clear Lake, MN with his wife, who is also a mental health professional. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and training Paso Fine horses.

Mary Schoenfeldt

Mary Schoenfeldt is the public education coordinator for the Everett, Wash., Office of Emergency Management. She is a 2013 inductee into the International Network of Women in Emergency Management hall of fame and has written numerous books on school safety during her 30 years in the field. Schoenfeldt is considered an expert in crisis management, helping communities assess response systems; writing crisis plans; conducting physical site safety audits; and designing school training exercises.

Dr. Kathie Erwin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (FL), National Certified Counselor, National Certified Gerontological Counselor, and Diplomate in Clinical Mental Health. She is an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology & Counseling at Regent University and was chosen for the Faculty Award for Excellent in Teaching. Her degrees include a BA from Eckerd College, a Master's in Counseling from Liberty University, and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Sarasota (now Argosy). Dr. Erwin was named to serve for three years on the prestigious Fulbright Specialist Roster (2017) with plans underway for international research.
As a Certified Field Traumatologist and trainer, Dr. Erwin serves on the Board of Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. She has deployed with the international team in Trinidad and India as well as teaching trauma courses as part of the ongoing Ukraine Project in Kiev, Ukraine. She is a Quality Matters Certified Reviewer and specialist in online course design.
